The Nifty Pharma Index ended 0.2% higher Monday after tumbling almost 2.4% earlier in the day in response to Trump's remarks. The Sensex and Nifty jumped nearly 4%-posting their biggest single-day gains in four years. Of the 20 stocks in Nifty Pharma, 13 gained and seven declined.

The Nifty Metal index jumped 5.9% - its best single-day performance in three years. Hindustan Copper soared 10%, emerging as the top gainer of the day. Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), National Aluminium Company (Nalco), Tata Steel and JSW Steel, which gained 5-8% each.

The BSE Sensex jumped 2,975 points, or 3.7%, to close at 82,429.9. The NSE Nifty surged 916.7 points, or 3.8%, ending over 24,924. Both indices closed at their highest levels for the year, aided by the sharpest run-up in a day since February 2021.
